Teen Choice Awards: 1D Twilight But Biebless

The Teen Choice Awards were awarded last night. Since 1999, teens and twinks are invited to vote for their idols to receive the prices once a year. There were no surprises as Twilight, One Direction, and Justin Bieber collected several prices.

The British boy-band One Direction was the recipient of four different awards as a group, including Choice Summer Tour, Choice Group, Choice Single (Live While We're Young), and Choice Love Song (Little Things). Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, and Niall Horan were all in the audience to accept their four giant surfboards that represent the unwieldy ceremony awards. Harry Styles was getting two more awards on his own for Choice Male Hottie and Choice Smile.

Justin Bieber on the other hand was most noticed for his absence, despite bagging three awards. Winning the surfboard for Choice Male Artist, Choice Twitter Personality, and Choice Single Male Artist could not get the star out from his hiding hole. Skipping an event that is mainly there to thank the fans for their support looks like an odd choice. Maybe Justin Bieber was living up his brat behavior; or maybe he was feeling so much the brat that he decided to keep out of the limelight while waiting to grow up.

The Twilight Saga and its stars collected no less than seven awards for the final installment of the movies with The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2. The movie managed to sneak into two categories, Sci-Fi/Fantasy and Romance, and Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, and Kellan Lutz managed to get a price each, too. It will be interesting, now Twilight is through, what will be filling the void next year.

And finally, pretty boy Nicholas Hoult took home the Choice Movie Breakout Award. There is hope to see more of him in future, then.
