Outing others can take several forms. There are homophobic individuals or groups and haters who do it out of spite and pettiness. There are gays who do it out of wishful thinking or in a moment of pique. And then there are boys asserting their bragging rights. None of these scenarios are pretty.
Gay teens have a much higher risk of committing suicide than their heterosexual peers. The reason is mainly mental stress before and after their coming out. Scientists are calling for more prevention and a fundamental rethink on family and society values.
The Internet was awash with the cover of People's Magazine showing Taylor Lautner (clothed) and the headline about his coming out. Many fell for it. Those that were caught in the scam sensation were definitely not People's reader. I can't remember it ever appearing on a Saturday as this cover purported to do. And special double issues appear twice a year in summer and at the end of the year; for mid summer it is a bit cold right now, and the end of the year is usually on the other side of New Year's Day. That is at least how I understand it.
